This home is a lovely well-kept and classic DC row home in a charming location, and with all the amenities. It features two bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and plenty of room for your entire group to comfortably spread out, or gather together, in the living and dining spaces. Having stayed at Airbnbs around the world, I am excited to offer my home for other travelers!
I live on a quiet street in a residential area a short walk from the Anacostia metro station in Washington, D.C. Neighbors are friendly in this up-and-coming neighborhood and we all know one another. The location is a convenient 15 minute Uber to major DC attractions neighborhoods: The National Mall Monuments, U Street, Georgetown and Chinatown. Even closer are NoMa, Capitol Hill, The Wharf, and Navy Yard.
This home is a cozy 2-level row home with a back porch and fenced in backyard. A living room, kitchen and dining area are all on the main floor. The kitchen has refrigerator, dishwasher, gas range, drip coffee maker, and microwave in addition to all your essential dishware, cutlery, and bakeware.
The dining area is open to the living room, where you'll dine comfortably in the cozy dining chairs at the table with seating enough for four.
The main living room is warm and inviting with plenty of room for all to gather, drink, play board games or simply to relax while streaming your favorite flicks or sports game on the smart TV. The main living room is where there is the pullout sofa bed that can accommodate up to two more guests comfortably.
Upstairs you will find two of the three bedrooms, and one full bathroom. The Master bedroom sleeps two very comfortably in a Queen-size bed. This room offers plenty of closet and drawer space. The lovely second bedroom offers 2 more beds, both twin-size with one being a trundle single pull-out. In this room as well is a dedicated desk space where one can find some quiet time as needed to catch up on work emails or attend any important business meetings online.
This home is flexible to all your needs - including the work spaces and pull out couch for extra sleeping space!
Free street parking is available directly outside of the home.

The historic riverside neighborhood of Anacostia is truly a gem. Some people think all Smithsonian Institution museums live on the National Mall, but Anacostia has its own completely dedicated to the concept of community. Perhaps the most famous member of the Anacostia community, Frederick Douglass is immortalized here, where his home at Cedar Hill has been named a registered national historic site. The neighborhood also has boundless natural beauty along its waterfront, featuring wildlife, lotuses, water lilies and walking trails.
Local artists and thought leaders tell the story of the neighborhood at this recently renovated museum. Don't be surprised if you happen to meet one of the curators on any given day. Smithsonian’s Anacostia Community Museum regularly hosts films, festivals and events, too. Take Metro’s Green Line to Anacostia and ride the W2 and W3 Metrobus to the building. In summertime, ride the free weekend shuttle there from the National Mall (it also stops at Frederick Douglass National Historic Site and the Anacostia Art Center).
Anacostia is a historically black community with ties to one of the most prominent African Americans in history. Born into slavery and eventually freed, statesman Frederick Douglass traveled the nation to speak out against slavery. When he wasn't traveling he was residing atop Cedar Hill at his home, which you can tour throughout the day. Plan your visit with the tour schedule or order tickets in advance for a small fee. If you don’t get in for a tour, you can always marvel at the panoramic views of the city from Douglass' home.
Getting Around
Anacostia Metro subway transit station, only an 8-minute walk from the home (Green Line)
Capital bikeshare rack is adjacent to the Anacostia Metro station OR at corner of MLK and Pleasant.
There are many bus routes along MLK.
Lime, Bird, Lyft, and Uber JUMP scooters (and bikes / mo-peds) are readily available on nearly every corner of the city wherever you can find one, rent them easily using their app and your smartphone.
