The Neighborhood
Nestled in the southern part of the vibrant Shaw neighborhood, the neighborhood offers several advantages. It is a few blocks' walking distance to the ample Shaw nightlife and dining scene. The location is also nearby the many downtown DC attractions of the National Mall, US Capitol, White House, and museums, which can be easily accessed by foot, nearby bike or scooter rental via protected bike lanes, public bus stops on the next block, or the DC Metro near the Convention Center.
The southern end of Shaw gives way to high-end shopping mecca CityCenterDC and the retail-filled Penn Quarter & Chinatown neighborhood. The dining and bar scene in Shaw sizzles, with new spots opening up on 7th and 9th Streets and in the neighborhood's quirky, historic alleyways.
Getting Around
The property is approximately 1 mi from the US Capitol building and DC's Union Station.
There is a bikeshare storage rack one block south and a protected bike lane straight to the US Capitol and National Mall.
There are bus stops located across the street: the 96 bus for quick transit to Union Station and the G2 bus to downtown DC and ultimately to Georgetown across the city.
The DC Convention Center is a few blocks' walk West and with its co-located Mt. Vernon Convention Center DC METRO-rail stop, provides transit via the Yellow Green line to the rest of DC and easy access to and from the DCA airport without having to transfer trains. It is conveniently located at the mouth of the 395 highway and also easily accessible by car.
